Rob Cole Of Team Bublé Delivers Radiant Rendition Of Lee Ann Womack’s “I Hope You Dance”

The Voice coaches were left in awe after Rob Cole covered Lee Ann Womack’s beloved hit, “I Hope You Dance,” during the playoffs for Season 28.

Cole, who’s from Pembroke, North Carolina, auditioned for Season 25 of The Voice in 2024, but didn’t turn any chairs. Now 34 years old, Cole returned to audition for Season 28. Reba McEntire and Michael Bublé turned their chairs for his performance of Chris Stapleton‘s “Joy of My Life.”

Cole has consistently proven himself throughout the competition. He won his battle and knockout, and Bublé chose him to be one of his four contestants competing in the playoffs.

Team Bublé’s playoff episode aired on Monday (December 1). Cole delivered a radiant rendition of “I Hope You Dance,” and his performance left McEntire in tears.

“It touched my heart,” the emotional coach said after his performance. “You take a real soft song like that and just make it better.”

Snoop Dogg also praised Cole’s performance, saying, “This is somebody that I would take to the studio and make a real record with because he’s got real superstar potential.”

For his part, Bublé felt Cole’s cover of “I Hope You Dance” was “flawless.” Watch it below.

Did Rob Cole’s playoff performance of “I Hope You Dance” help him secure a spot in the finale? We don’t know…yet.

The Voice changed how the finalists will be determined for Season 28. Each of the four coaches will choose one contestant from their team to send to the finals. Viewers’ votes will select the remaining two contestants.

Following the December 1 episode, McEntire elected to advance Aubrey Nicole, while Bublé decided to send Jazz McKenzie to the finale.

But don’t count Cole out. He and the other five “eliminated” contestants entered a voting pool after their playoff episode aired. Then, viewers voted for their favorite singer in the group. The one who earned the most votes will advance to the finale. Stay tuned to see if Cole is that lucky contestant!

The next episode of The Voice airs on Monday, December 8. That episode will feature Team Niall and Team Snoop’s playoff performances.

The live finale will follow and air across two nights, on December 15 and 16.
