London — In the electrifying heat of that year’s Britain’s Got Talent showdown, 17-year-old Shaun Smith from Lichfield secured his spot in the final after delivering a powerful rendition of U2’s With Or Without You. But despite his confident stage presence, Shaun insists he doesn’t consider himself — or anyone else — the guaranteed winner.
“Everyone has a chance. You can’t second-guess this competition — anything can happen,” Shaun said. “Even acts like Stavros Flatley could come out and give the performance of their lives and suddenly become the favorites!

Though Scottish singing phenomenon Susan Boyle has taken the nation by storm, Shaun refuses to believe victory is already hers. Still, he has nothing but praise for her:
“She’s absolutely incredible. Her voice is astonishing.”
