A 6th grader performed a cover of Lady Gaga’s song for the talent show, leaving the entire school in awe

The best cover songs honor the artist who popularized the song, retain the best aspects of the original, and sound entirely different—with a creative, new arrangement. For instance, Pentatonix sang a beautiful cover of Justin Bieber’s “Where Are U Now,” and Miley Cyrus, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and Alicia Keys, the judges of The Voice, performed an amazing rendition of Aerosmith’s “Dream On.”

The cover video below is quite calming even if it doesn’t include a mainstream artist or an award-winning group. A sixth-grader composed and performed it! Greyson Chance had a performance in his school’s talent show in April 2010. At first, it appeared as though Greyson was showcasing his piano skills to the teachers and pupils present. But when he began to sing, the audience was in awe of his performance of Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi”!

It takes his students a long time to understand what Greyson is singing because of how clever and unique his arrangement is. But if you watch closely, you can see how the audience lights up when Greyson’s peers know the hit song.

Greyson’s destiny was to become a superstar! Watch the video below to see Greyson’s amazing cover, and tell a friend about his amazing talent.
